this was my second trip to rojo gomez mexico. in the three hour drive from my home in southern california i entered into an entirely different world. there is no running water and limited electricity. i was surprised to find the people there just as happy if not more so than those in orange county. the simplicity of the environment frames the people. the children are happy and pure. expecting nothing and grateful for everything.
in three days time we built two houses for two families. for a few thousand american dollars and a little sweat we made an unmeasurable impact on their lives.
